HUDDERSFIELD LIONS SUPPORT HOPE NEWSOME FOOD BANK (@HopeNewsomeFoodBank)

The Lions were delighted to donate essential food to the Food Bank.  We plan to help Christmas celebrations by donating again and this time we will be concentrating on the following treats:

Chocolates, puddings, crackers, crisps, cakes, nibbles, biscuits, mince pies, selection boxes, Christmas puddings and Christmas cakes.

The Food Bank are always in need of all year round items such as:

Tinned meat; rice pudding; tinned vegetables; dilute juice; longlife milk; teabags; tinned fruit; tinned potatoes, toiletries, shampoo, toothpaste, tooth brushes; toys; books for children.

FIREWORK DISPLAY AT A SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

During the month of November, we hold a firework display for staff, students and their families.  We provide the full event at no cost to the school, donating any income from the sale of traditional bonfire food to the school at the end of the evening.

This is a private event and is something the Lions members look forward to year after year.

Sadly, this year’s event has been postponed until November 2021, coronavirus permitting.
